Call of Duty: Mobile officially launched its Season 2 2026 update, titled “Lunar Charge,” on February 11, 2026, ringing in the Year of the Horse with a cascade of festive content. From a brand-new Battle Royale experience to a deadly boss lurking in Building 21, the update refreshes nearly every corner of the game. Players can expect everything from vibrant Lunar New Year themes and limited-time events to a powerful new assault rifle, ranked rewards resets, and sweeping changes to the DMZ: Recon mode. The season also marks the debut of Plunder in Battle Royale, a high-stakes mode where squads race to amass wealth rather than simply survive.

Seasonal Events and Festive Collaborations
This year’s Lunar New Year celebration takes center stage through a series of time-limited activities inspired by Chinese folklore. A central event tasks operators with completing daily missions to earn card flips on a themed board. Each card grants Wealth Points, which accumulate toward milestone rewards such as the Epic Type 25 — Emerald Prosperity Weapon Blueprint. It’s a system that encourages consistent play while rewarding collectors with a vibrant, prosperity-themed skin.
Returning alongside the festivities is the 1v1 Duel mode, and Activision has attached a dedicated event to it. By securing victories and collecting trophies, players can unlock Secret Caches, a fresh Merc 2 Operator Skin, and multiple weapon camos. The emphasis on one-on-one skill gives the event a competitive edge that stands out amid the broader seasonal cheer.
Beginning February 16, 2026, a separate Ramadan-themed event offers its own set of rewards, including Zero — Tranquil Nights, the AK47 — Luminous, and the SVD — Falcon’s Eye. This event runs for the remainder of the season, ensuring a steady stream of unlockable content well into March. Additionally, players can look forward to a DMZ: Recon team-up challenge, a Spring Break beach event, and various rotating missions designed to keep the community engaged.

Battle Pass and Challenge Pass: Firepower and Festive Flair
The Lunar Charge Battle Pass blends free and premium rewards inspired by the season’s theme. Headlining the arsenal is the all-new Lachman-556 Assault Rifle, a weapon that bridges the mobility of an SMG with the lethality of a full-size assault rifle. Free tiers also include a Counter UAV Scorestreak Reskin, Secret Caches, assorted weapon camos, and other cosmetic items.
Premium track rewards elevate the collection with Operator Skins like Park — VNN Field Reporter, Stitch — The Butcher of Zordaya, and Isabella — Puno. Weapon Blueprints such as the DLQ33 — Aftermath, PP19 — Headliner, SKS — Prison Break, and Lachman-556 — Full Steam give loadouts a distinctive look. Ground Forces subscribers receive exclusives including the Daniel — Wartorn Operator Skin, the UL736 — Fortune’s Charge Weapon Blueprint, and the Backpack — Fortune’s Charge, along with XP boosts and store discounts.
Complementing the Battle Pass is the Season 2 Challenge Pass, which introduces Standard, Special, and Elite Missions. Tokens earned can be exchanged for throwback rewards like a Modern Warfare (2019)-style Care Package Reskin and a Black Ops Cold War-inspired Flashbang Reskin—appealing to fans of the franchise’s recent history.
New Modes and Gameplay Updates
Undoubtedly the headline addition is Plunder, making its long-awaited full-season Battle Royale debut. Dropping into Isolated as trios, squads compete to become the first to accumulate $1 million through looting, contracts, and eliminations. Unlike standard Battle Royale, death isn’t final—operators respawn continuously, creating a frenetic atmosphere where cash changes hands rapidly and high-earning squads are marked for everyone to hunt.
Once a squad crosses the $1 million threshold, a bonus round triggers: all cash earned is multiplied by 1.5x for three minutes, potentially rearranging the leaderboard right up to the final moment. This mechanic introduces thrilling last-minute comebacks and fierce competition around natural hotspots.

The iconic Shipment map receives a Lunar New Year makeover this season. Redecked in red and gold accents, with falling snow and festive decorations like firecrackers and Spring Festival banners, the themed version runs from launch until February 25. It’s a limited-time twist that adds visual flair to the beloved close-quarters chaos.
Meanwhile, 1v1 Duel returns in its best-of-three format. Players fight to seven eliminations per round, with the loser gaining the advantage of choosing the next weapon class. Every victory earns trophies, and accumulating them unlocks milestone rewards—making the mode both a skill challenge and a rewarding pursuit.
On Serpent Island, a new dynamic event unfolds. Enemy reinforcements attempt to secure a moving train near a missile site, and squads must clear marked locations, activate a control system, and launch a missile to stop it. Destroying the train alerts every operator in the match, turning the area into a high-risk, high-reward zone filled with premium loot.
Also tied to the Lunar New Year on Serpent Island is the Five Gods of Wealth contract. After activating the contract, squads must collect items from marked spots across the map. Completing the task allows them to summon the Five Gods and exchange the gathered items for substantial cash rewards—a lucrative side objective that fits the prosperity theme.
DMZ: Recon Expands with Velikan and Mythic Trials
DMZ: Recon receives some of the season’s most impactful updates. Building 21 now houses a deadly new boss encounter: Velikan. Guarded by armored soldiers and armed with his signature War Machine grenade launcher, Velikan patrols near the elevator once his presence is announced. Defeating him grants squads high-quality loot, including a powerful loot version of the War Machine that can dramatically alter the flow of an extraction.

Perhaps the most intriguing new feature is the ability to trial Mythic Weapons before fully committing to a Draw. Mythic Weapon Parts can now be found across Serpent Island and Building 21. Successfully extracting these items allows players to exchange them for three-day trials of select Mythic Weapon Blueprints. This hands-on approach gives operators a meaningful preview of the game’s most exclusive arms, potentially influencing future purchases.
Season 2 “Lunar Charge” cements itself as one of the more content-rich updates in recent memory. With Plunder revamping the Battle Royale formula, Velikan raising the stakes in DMZ: Recon, and a wealth of festive events honoring the Year of the Horse, Call of Duty: Mobile continues to deliver a diverse and evolving battlefield as it dives into the 2026 lunar calendar.
